Daintree Entomological museum
This world class private collection of rare and local Butterflies, Moths and Beetles allows visitors a hands on experience to see and feel the wildlife of the Daintree Rainforest. This amazing beautifully displayed collection of Australian and Worldwide insects has been collected and bred, by one man, Stephen Paul Lamond.
In his vision to share the unique World of insects with his family and friends he has established one of the worlds best private Butterfly and Beetle collections. His passion for the insect world has inspired him to create and build a remarkable Museum made from beautiful rainforest timberfrom his property. It has taken over 40 years to establish this world renowned display. He now exhibits his life’s long work including his personal artwork, breeding houses,live insects, and new local discoveries in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest.
The Museum is easy to find and well worth it. The Cooper Creek area is the richest part of the Daintree Coast You will locate us 17kms north of the Daintree river ferry, on the way to Cape Tribulation on Turpentine Road, 200 metres from the corner. You cant miss the large Spider web Gates and as you enter you will realize that your experience to this Mysterious Rainforest is about to start
