Frank Wightman Cottage
The freestanding Cottage has been named after Frank Wightman.In 1940, Frank’s great love for the ocean and sailing drove him to embark on a long-term relationship with the Langebaan lagoon, its surroundings and all that it entailed. Frank and his yacht, Wylo set anchor in Kraal Bay which became the “Golden Harbour” to him.As a naturalist, sailor, loner and writer, Wightman fell in love with Langebaan and made it his home for about twenty years, after which he moved to Oesterval to spend the last of his days. Frank’s life story has been captured by Lawrence Green in the book A Giant in Hiding.In memory of this intriguing man, the freestanding cottage has exquisite views of the lagoon and Church Haven. Shaded by the surrounding trees, it is a serene setting.The dual level cottage offers guests privacy with hotel hospitality. The Cottage has a spiral staircase leading downstairs to the lounge and refreshment area.The upper level larger bedroom is complemented by wooden floors and a quaint lounge with a large window offering views of the lagoon. The bedroom downstairs opens onto the terrace and has beautiful views.
The Farmstead
The Farmstead is a large 2 bedroom situated in the original farmstead, accessed by a staircase. The main bedroom has a king size bed and leads into the generously sized lounge area with sweeping views of the lagoon where your children have enough space to play while you relax and soak up the breathtaking lagoon view. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath. The second bedroom sleeps 3 people in single beds.
