Excitement awaits you from the modern man-made city oasis of Las Vegas to the time warn spires of Bryce Canyon. Take in the Vegas strip and it’s unique architectural feats, including glass pyramids and Roman columns before venturing out into the surrounding Nevada desert that seems to stretch on indefinitely in all directions. Gaze up at the big skies as you traverse the Colorado Plateau, then slow things down with a hike or horseback ride through Bryce Canyon or Zion National Park. More natural wonder awaits in Bryce Canyon, with towering sandstone hoodoos dotting the rocky horizon. Find a different sort of oasis on Lake Powell, a lake hugged on all sides by a stark desert landscape. You’ll have the opportunity to change your perspective on the land by venturing over Antelope Canyon via helicopter to get a full appreciation for this rugged western expanse.  Explore American nostalgia for the open road in Seligman, part of the historic Route 66, before experiencing more city excitement in “Arizona’s Playground”, Havasu, which promises visitors lakeside fun in desert surroundings.

Start with the world’s entertainment capital, with its casinos, shows and shopping and then it’s off to the contrasting peace and solitude of Death Valley – the hottest place on earth. From there it’s onwards and upwards into the Mammoth Lakes ski resort, high in the Sierra Nevada mountains. We then head through the Tioga Pass and enter the raw beauty of Yosemite National Park, with its peaks, waterfalls, bears and cougars! It’s back to civilisation after that and the lovely coastal city of San Francisco for a host of sightseeing opportunities. Our tour continues down the Californian coast, visiting the Monterey Peninsula with its glorious beaches and the quaint seaside town of Carmel-by-the-sea along the way. We then continue south to the white beaches of Santa Barbara, the glamour of Malibu and Santa Monica, where the iconic Route 66 ends. Enjoy the bustle of Los Angeles – including Beverley Hills and the Hollywood Walk of Fame – before we head back to Las Vegas through the arid beauty of the Mojave Desert.

Starting in Utah’s Salt Lake City and ending in Nevada’s entertainment mecca of Las Vegas. After taking in the State Capitol building and the huge Mormon Temple at Temple Square, we head out of Salt Lake City into the magnificent canyon scenery of Moab and then experience two beautiful parks in quick succession. First, we visit the Arches National Park, with its thousands of sandstone arches and then Canyonlands National Park on the Colorado River. Our next stop is the Capitol Reef National Park with its famous Chimney Rock pillar before we continue on to Bryce Canyon and the gorgeous Lake Powell. Our next stop is the majestic Grand Canyon, one of the seven great natural wonders of the world, and once you have taken in its endless views, we head for Flagstaff, Arizona, immortalised in the song ‘Route 66’. From there, we climb the Coconino Plateau into the arid beauty of the Mojave Desert, stopping at another Route 66 town, Seligman, on our way to the world’s entertainment capital Las Vegas, a city that never sleeps.
